Toronto Yoga Mamas, located in Toronto's trendy Leslieville neighbourhood, is excited to announce that our DONA-approved Postpartum Doula Workshop will be running (again) this winter - from November 18th - 20th 2016.
The Postpartum Doula Training Workshop is ideal for women who have a passion for working with babies, nurturing families, and building capacity in others. This DONA-approved training can be used towards your certification with DONA.org and provides you with the skills necessary to support families during the first 3 months of new parenthood - so that they can ease into their new roles. The Postpartum Doula Workshop focuses on: normal newborn behaviour cues, postpartum adjustment, and typical questions (and concerns) that arise with new families. At the completion of the workshop, participants will receive a Postpartum Doula Certificate - meaning that you can begin to work with families as soon as your feel confident to do so! :) Many participants will choose to continue on with the certification process through DONA International, and most find that the workshop helps them identify areas in which they could benefit from further education, or experience, for instance: in breastfeeding support or sleep support. The schedule for Toronto Yoga Mama's November Postpartum Doula Workshop is: Friday, November 18th 8:00am - 6:30pm Saturday, November 19th 8:00am - 6:30pm Sunday, November 20th 8:00am - 6:30pm (*Includes scheduled breaks and lunches.) Having that sense of connection with the other couples really helps when discussing your thoughts and emotions, and you don't feel afraid to ask questions. We also felt that the content that Adrienne covered was extensive and really encouraged each of the couples to explore and navigate their own journey through pregnancy and prepare for birth. Adrienne was great at teaching us to advocate for our own choices as parents. And of course, the TYM studio is such a warm and welcoming place; being in a familiar location was comfortable and enjoyable." The TYM Childbirth Education Course tuition is: $300/per couple (10% OFF is available to unlimited monthly membership holders)
