Starting baby on their solids journey can feel daunting for a lot of parents. Where do you start? When do you start? How do you begin? Yoga Mamas Lactation Consultant, Paola Vallarino works with families to create a personalized plan providing baby with their very best start on solids.
At your initial consultation we will talk about:

Baby led weaning vs. purees vs. combination of the two (whichever method you prefer)
What do you need for starting
What happens to breastfeeding and formula-feeding after starting solids?
Starting Solids Quick Guide: includes an overview of what you need and when to begin feeding your baby solids
Monthly & Weekly planner: keep track of which foods baby has tried and any reaction to food

If you have already started giving your baby solids, download and fill out a food log based on your baby's age prior to your first appointment:
Do I need to bring baby with me? It’s recommended that baby stays home so that the parent(s)/caregiver(s) are able to focus on the information given by the Lactation Consultant. However you are more than welcome to bring baby with you.
Is this offered to parents only? No caregivers are able to book this service.
Can I do this virtually or in clinic? Either appointment format is conducive, whichever is best for you and your family. When should I book this service? When you’re ready to prepare for your baby’s solid feeding journey. Generally, babies are ready to start solids around 6 months. A follow up appointment is recommended 2 weeks after the initial consultation to monitor progress, address any new questions and continue your support.
Paola Vallarino, IBCLC Paola is a Lactation Consultant with over 10 years of medical background and over 1,000 hours of clinical experience helping families to have a happy breastfeeding journey.
She is an International Medical Graduate, a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), the gold standard certification for health professionals working with breastfeeding families. She comes from a family of doctors, and being a health advocate has always been her passion. She found a love for Lactation Medicine when becoming a mother.
As a breastfeeding mother herself, she understands the difficulties that women can face when feeding their babies, and that’s why her mission is to support, educate and empower them with evidence based information so that they can feel confident and give their babies the best start.
She’s always updating her knowledge with continuing education to give families the best care. Paola also specializes in Child Nutrition and provides families with advice on how to feed their babies when starting solids or supplementing. For Paola, every family is special, and giving them the care they deserve by working on their unique feeding goals without any judgment is her number one priority.

Cancellation Policy: All Wellness cancellations must be made a minimum of 24 hours, prior to your appointment time. We have a limited amount of Wellness appointments available and they are in high demand. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before an appointment will be charged in full.
