​We’d like to welcome Krysta McNeil to the Yoga Mamas team! Krysta is a Registered Massage Therapist with more than 15 y
ears of clinical experience and a proud mom of 3 little ones. Her practice is centred on working directly with her clients on their individual needs and loves making them feel better than they did when they walked in.

Krysta has worked mainly with MVA’s and athletes over the years. On her journey to becoming a mom, she found her passion in pre- and post-natal health. She is a lifelong learner and values continuing her education to better support her clients.

Krysta knows firsthand that mothering is a unique experience for everyone. She feels that having a safe community to be nurtured, encouraged and recharged is essential. That is why she is very excited after years of being a guest at Yoga Mamas to now becoming part of the team.

​Why To See An Osteopath During Pregnancy

Osteopathy during pregnancy can be incredibly beneficial for a mama-to-be and provide immediate relief to many prenatal aches and pains. In Canada, osteopathic care is provided by Osteopathic Manual Practitioners.

Throughout pregnancy the body undergoes many changes as it adjusts and grows to accommodate a growing baby. As baby grows, mama's body adapts. Osteopathy in pregnancy is a very gentle non-invasive manual therapy that restores balance to the body. 

The goal of osteopathic treatment during pregnancy is to find relief from discomfort and reduce tension and strain by gently allowing for mobility. An Osteopathic Manual Therapist finds and frees up restrictions within the body, helping to improve body mechanics, so mama and baby can be more comfortable. Prenatal osteopathic treatment involves massage and stretches as well as other gentle techniques used on specifically targeted areas to help improve mobility and find relief. Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is one of our busiest wellness disciplines. We have six physiotherapists who specializing specifically in prenatal and postpartum pelvic health. ELLIE HONG

Ellie is a fantastic pelvic floor and orthopaedic physiotherapist, who has a passion for serving women both pre and postnatally in their journey of managing their pelvic floor health. She works closely with women to prepare them for labour (e.g. how to push), and educate them on the effects of pregnancy, delivery and a c-section on their bodies. She believes in developing a goal-based, individualized treatment plan, so as to address pelvic floor dysfunction, poor core function and improper biomechanics. She also works to integrate manual therapy, McKenzie spinal therapy, functional taping, myofascial release, active release therapy, Mulligan therapy, exercise prescription and acupuncture skills to manage any orthopaedic issues pre and postnatally for moms and for papas too!  

Ellie is dedicated to continuing education. After completing her Bachelor of Health Sciences at McMaster University and Masters of Physical Therapy at Western University, she has taken a plethora of specialized courses in pregnancy, pelvic girdle pain, and pelvic floor/orthopaedic treatment. She has also received specialized training in MPS Scar Release using the Dolphin Neurostim, to help release all types of scars including c-section scars. Furthermore, she is a trained Women’s Health Coach through the Integrative Women’s Health Institute and strongly believes in a holistic approach to care.

Ellie’s favourite part of being a pelvic floor physiotherapist is empowering mamas-to-be and mamas with the knowledge and tools to prepare and rehab their bodies optimally. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her dog Lucky, doing yoga, and sipping a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon!

After graduating from McGill University, Trang’s personal experience with pelvic rehabilitation inspired her to specialize in this field and pursue further training in both Canada and the United States. She understands the challenges of getting in touch with one’s pelvic floor and how difficult it is to find the right advice and guidance.

Trang believes in creating unique treatment plans for each patient, even those with the same condition, as everyone can have different underlying dysfunctions. Combining a variety of treatment modalities such as manual therapy, neurofunctional acupuncture, Yoga and Pilates-based movements, Trang is dedicated to working closely with her patients to achieve their goals.

When not providing physiotherapy care, Trang loves exploring different cuisines and keeping active with weight lifting, Yoga, and Pilates.

Adriana graduated from Queens University where she completed her Masters of Physiotherapy in 2012. She has worked as an Orthopaedic therapist treating a variety of musculoskeletal injuries with the end goal of improving overall health and strength as well as optimizing individual performance.  During her own pregnancy, she saw a Pelvic therapist which sparked an interest to pursue training in pelvic floor physiotherapy. Adriana has a passion in treating pre and post-natal patients who suffer from pelvic floor dysfunctions.

Adriana is committed to providing the highest quality of care to her patients by integrating evidence-based practice with her clinical experience. Her goal is to help women gain back their core strength and regain control over their pelvic floor muscles. She believes in implementing highly individualized treatment plans and relies on manual therapy, soft tissue release, exercise prescription, and patient education to help her clients achieve their therapeutic goal.

Amanda is a compassionate therapist that believes in an individualized and goal-oriented treatment plan that applies a comprehensive approach to all aspects of functioning pre and post-natal.

As a dual practitioner, she has been working as a Registered Massage Therapist and Physiotherapist since graduating from St. George’s University of London in the United Kingdom. This diversified practice provides continuity and quality of care that follows clients through their wellness journey.She believes client education is an extremely important aspect of treatment that allows women to get in touch with their bodies and empower them to take an active role in their pregnancy, preparation for labour as well as recovery postnatal. 

After falling in love with everything pre and postnatal and having the chance to work with amazing women on their pregnancy journey as an RMT at Yoga Mamas, she has since taken advanced practice courses within physiotherapy to specialize in pelvic floor dysfunction, pain, and pelvic floor assessment. Utilizing her soft tissue expertise, manual therapy, fascial release, scar release and exercise prescription, she will be dedicated to making you feel your best self no matter where you are in your journey, and believes it is never too early or late to start!

Outside of Yoga Mamas, she works part-time as a Respiratory Physiotherapist at West Park Healthcare Centre and enjoys spending time outdoors with her partner and their goofy dog Duncan.

Nav Grewal is a Registered Physiotherapist specializing in Pelvic Health and has been a part of the Yoga Mamas wellness team since 2017. At Yoga Mamas, Nav focuses her entire pelvic floor physiotherapy practice online serving mamas and mamas-to-be virtually from the comfort of their home.

After graduating from McMaster, Nav was immediately drawn to Women’s Health and decided to specialize in the area. Nav has worked extensively with pre and postnatal patients with pelvic floor dysfunction alongside urologists and obstetrician/gynecologists. She continues to expand her knowledge by taking advanced courses in pelvic health and integrating new research into her practice.

Nav takes great care in treating each client’s concerns with compassion and respect. She combines manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, and patient education with her client’s individual goals to improve their quality of life and return them to health.

When she is not treating patients, Nav enjoys leading a healthy lifestyle by keeping active with running, yoga, meditation, and dance.

Lamiya graduated from Queens University in 2012, with her masters in Physical Therapy. After working as a Orthopaedic Physiotherapist, Lamiya's passion for women's health led her to pursue further training in pelvic floor physiotherapy.

She works closely with patients who suffer from pelvic floor dysfunctions, with a focus on pre and post natal effects on the pelvic floor muscles.  Her goal is to empower and help educate females to combat the effects of pregnancy and delivery on their bodies. 

Using a variety of treatment modalities such as manual therapy, functional taping techniques and exercise prescription, Lamiya creates an individualized treatment plan geared to meeting a patients' goals!
