Your Initial Naturopathic Consultation and Appointment
At your first appointment you can expect that you and your Naturopathic Doctor will do a lot of talking. They want to hear all about what you are experiencing and how it is impacting your life. They will ask about your health history and your current lifestyle. If you have any recent blood work, test results, or any other pertinent medical information, please bring it along with you to your first appointment. They will do any necessary physical exams that are related to your health concerns. If applicable, they may decide to run some additional diagnostic testing. Together, you and your Naturopathic Doctor will discuss a treatment plan that will work for you and your busy lifestyle. By the time you leave, the hope is that you will feel empowered to take your health into your own hands. The initial visit runs anywhere from 60-90 minutes.
Your Follow Up Naturopathic Appointment
At your follow up appointments, you and your Naturopathic Doctor will track your progress. They will determine if you need to continue with the current treatment plan, or if modifications need to be made. The follow up appointments vary in length, and can be anywhere from 30-60 minutes.

Acupuncture
Together, you and your Naturopathic Doctor may decide that acupuncture will be a good adjunctive therapy to include in your treatment plan. Acupuncture is most effective if done regularly and consistently. Therefore, when including acupuncture as part of your plan, it is best to do a treatment once per week for 6-10 weeks. Your Treatment Plan Our Naturopathic Doctors believe that simple changes can result in amazing health outcomes. They often look at diet and lifestyle first, as these two things are the foundations for our health. Making changes to your diet and lifestyle are cost-effective and profound. However, they may also recommend nutritional or herbal supplements and acupuncture to help correct for any deficiencies, combat any underlying infections, or to “reset” processes in the body that may not be running as smoothly as they should. They use supplements strategically, meaning you won't leave their office with a laundry list of things to take. They do not believe that there are any “magic pills” or single “super foods” that can cure all that may ail us in a sustainable way, but they do believe in the power of making a daily commitment to making healthy choices. |
