Namita is a Pelvic Floor and Orthopaedic Physiotherapist with over 9 years of experience. She helps treat prenatal, postpartum and menopausal women with urinary incontinence, pelvic floor weakness, pelvic pain and surgery recovery.
She has a passion for continued education and has completed various courses in pelvic health, visceral mobilization, acupuncture, manual therapy, rapid neurofascial reset and improving pelvic floor function through spinal manual therapy. She uses a comprehensive and holistic approach which includes hands on treatment, individualized exercise program and client specific education. She is excited about promoting and advocating for women’s health and well-being. Amanda graduated with her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2016. She has since worked with a variety of patients in different healthcare settings and continues to teach in the Physiotherapy program at McMaster University as an assistant clinical professor and as lecturer in the Physical Therapy program at University of Toronto. Amanda is a lifelong learner and continues to build on her experience with training in chronic pain management, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, and incontinence. She is passionate about the role of physiotherapy in preventing disease and managing chronic pain.
Amanda is dedicated to providing client-centered care, which includes a balance of education, exercise, hands-on therapy, acupuncture, and self-management. Amanda has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and enjoys integrating yoga postures and relaxation techniques into rehabilitation. Her goal as a Physiotherapist is to help mamas and mamas-to-be to regain their function and to be able to do things that are important to them. As a dual practitioner, she has been working as a Registered Massage Therapist and Physiotherapist since graduating from St. George’s University of London in the United Kingdom. This diversified practice provides continuity and quality of care that follows clients through their wellness journey.She believes client education is an extremely important aspect of treatment that allows women to get in touch with their bodies and empower them to take an active role in their pregnancy, preparation for labour as well as recovery postnatal. After falling in love with everything pre and postnatal and having the chance to work with amazing women on their pregnancy journey as an RMT at Yoga Mamas, she has since taken advanced practice courses within physiotherapy to specialize in pelvic floor dysfunction, pain, and pelvic floor assessment. Utilizing her soft tissue expertise, manual therapy, fascial release, scar release and exercise prescription, she will be dedicated to making you feel your best self no matter where you are in your journey, and believes it is never too early or late to start! Lamiya graduated from Queens University in 2012, with her masters in Physical Therapy. After working as a Orthopaedic Physiotherapist, Lamiya's passion for women's health led her to pursue further training in pelvic floor physiotherapy.
She works closely with patients who suffer from pelvic floor dysfunctions, with a focus on pre and post natal effects on the pelvic floor muscles. Her goal is to empower and help educate females to combat the effects of pregnancy and delivery on their bodies. Using a variety of treatment modalities such as manual therapy, functional taping techniques and exercise prescription, Lamiya creates an individualized treatment plan geared to meeting a patients' goals! Nav Grewal is a Registered Physiotherapist specializing in Pelvic Health and has been a part of the Yoga Mamas wellness team since 2017. At Yoga Mamas, Nav focuses her entire pelvic floor physiotherapy practice online serving mamas and mamas-to-be virtually from the comfort of their home.
After graduating from McMaster, Nav was immediately drawn to Women’s Health and decided to specialize in the area. Nav has worked extensively with pre and postnatal patients with pelvic floor dysfunction alongside urologists and obstetrician/gynecologists. She continues to expand her knowledge by taking advanced courses in pelvic health and integrating new research into her practice. Nav takes great care in treating each client’s concerns with compassion and respect.
