‘Eat like you love yourself. Move like you love yourself. Speak like you love yourself. Act like you love yourself.’ We are sharing all the ways in which we can make ourselves {and others} feel more loved and as such we put together 10 Daily Practices for greater health and happiness with the hopes of inspiring and energizing you to take on and flow with each and every beautiful day! You can begin to implement the daily rituals slowly or altogether, there is no wrong way. Love and accept yourself for who you are, where you are. 1. Wake Up 30-60 Minutes Earlier Whether it is 5am or 7:30am, try setting your clock back 30-60 minutes and use that time to do something that will set you up for success in your day. That might be planning how you are going to tackle your day, dreaming up long term goals or having a leisurely bath - you decide. 2. Visualize Your Perfect DayBefore you get out of bed in the morning, take a few moments to close your eyes, align your breath and imagine your perfect day, the more specific the better! Imagine eating healthier, in detail: see yourself choosing an apple, reaching for it, smelling it, and then biting into and chewing it. Imagine moving your body: see yourself arriving on your mat, grounding your feet and finding your breath, noticing the sense of calm it brings to you as you begin your practice. 3. Switch To A Natural DeodorantBy switching to a natural deodorant, you are avoiding thousands of harmful chemicals that go directly into your bloodstream. Though most people are concerned with natural deodorants not being strong enough, new products are being created everyday to keep you feeling fresh-naturally. This is one of the first things you apply to your skin in the morning, allow it to be natural. 4. Practice YogaSimilar to meditation, establishing a daily yoga routine will do wonders for your mind, body and spirit. Start small with committing to 5 sun salutations each day. Align breath to movement. Get into the flow. A few moments on the mat has incredible benefits such as a more clear and focused outlook, a calm disposition and an inner strength that emulates from within. 5. Give LoveIt goes without saying that we are a lot happier {and healthier} when we are surrounded by those we love. If you are unable to be physically with someone you love, reach out to them by giving them a call, e-mail or even text to let them know you are thinking of them. 6. Read For PleasureRead 10 pages {minimum} of a book you’re reading for pleasure a day. So often the thought of reading for pleasure becomes a luxury only to be enjoyed at the beach or on some kind of vacation, however even by simply reading 10 pages of a good book you will get to experience another world outside of your own. Commit to reading 10 pages a day and pretty soon you won’t be able to stop! 7. Compliment SomeoneTake a day and express every kind thought that comes into your head. Whether it’s telling the barista how much you love her bracelet, or how much you appreciate the care your babysitter provides, there is always opportunity to make someone feel special. No compliment is too big or too little. 8. Unplug.Create an evening ritual that involves a curfew for your electronics at least 30 minutes before you want to fall asleep. Power down all of your devices {this includes iPads, TV, phones, computers and e-readers}. The blue light they emit is similar to daylight and can interfere with your sleep cycle. Allow your mind to unwind and relax naturally. 9. JournalClarify emotions, understand yourself, release anger and hurtful feelings, solve problems in a calm and creative way. Cozying up with a cup of tea and a pretty notebook is a great nighttime ritual. Letting go of your day and making peace with your emotions will allow you to have a more sound sleep so that you can wake up feeling refreshed. 10. Practice GratitudeAbove all else, show gratitude and appreciation for your beautiful life by focusing on the wonderful parts and embracing any challenges that come your way with clarity and strength.
