Child & Youth Counselling
Our child therapy services are here to support children and adolescents, ages 4 to 18, through any challenges they may be facing. We create a safe and nurturing environment where kids can feel comfortable, using engaging tools and activities to make their therapy sessions as positive and impactful as possible.
All child & youth therapy sessions are held in person at our Toronto clinic. |
What to expect during your child's counselling session
We use a warm and gentle approach to child therapy. During the first session, a game is often played to help your child feel comfortable. In follow up sessions, a range of modalities can be used to best meet the needs of each child:
Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP): Focuses on building secure attachments through therapeutic interactions.
Arts-based & Play-based Modalities: Utilizes creative and play activities to help children express themselves and process emotions.
Attachment Approaches: Strengthen the bond between children and their caregivers.
Family Systems Therapy: Addresses dynamics within the family to support the child's well-being.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): Helps children develop coping skills to manage their emotions effectively.
