What is Buccal Massage?
Buccal massage is a hands-on treatment that works both inside and outside the mouth to release deep-seated tension. This technique, performed with a focus on care and precision, addresses tightness in the masseter and temporalis muscles, which can often be responsible for jaw discomfort or headaches. The treatment is fully clothed, with gloves used to ensure a safe and hygienic process.
Benefits of Buccal Massage
Many individuals experience an accumulation of tension in their facial and jaw muscles due to factors like stress, teeth grinding, or prolonged periods of poor posture. Buccal massage can help:
Alleviate jaw tension and discomfort
Relieve symptoms related to temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder
Support relaxation of facial muscles that have become tight due to stress
Reduce tension-related headaches
Our RMTs are experienced in using buccal massage techniques to create a deeply soothing experience, which can be particularly helpful for those who experience chronic jaw tension or facial pain.
